The Team Commitment

Team McCarthy encompasses people from all walks of life.  Some of us are McCarthy or Buckley family members, some friends or co-workers and some of us have never met Bill or Heather but want to join the fight because it is a noble cause for tremendous people.  The love and support from this army of people will make a difference. 

"We're going to get our miracle!"  Heather McCarthy set the tone for Team McCarthy in July 2007.  And every day since she & Bill have shown us the true meanings of commitment, strength, faith, hope and love.   In return, we have been able to show them just how much they mean to us.  Our original missions were to help raise money for the family to help them with practical matters (home maintance, meals, bill paying etc).  This allowed them to 1.) Help Billy focus on getting well and 2.) Afforded them time to maintain some level of normalcy for their children under the most abnormal circumstances.

Well, in September 2007 they got their miracle.  Billy stunned his medical team when his MRI revealed his tumor had not only stabilized but actually shrunk.  This afforded him 2 more years with his family.  They never took one day for granted.

In July 2007 we all committed to this family.  Although Billy lost his battle, Team McCarthy remains as determined as ever.  Our Mission has changed but our commitment to the McCarthy Family has not.  This year they need us more than ever as they try to rebuild their life without their beloved.

We ARE Team McCarthy!  We will continue to help create Miracles!
